Former Bayern Munic star, Owen Hargreaves, has said that Brazilian ace, Neymar, is the closest player in the world to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Chelsea star, Hazard had been seen by many as the next big star after Messi and Ronaldo but Hargreaves thinks Neymar is better.
The Brazilian was in top form to help Paris Saint-Germain to an emphatic 6-1 home win over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Neymar scored a hat-trick, including two eye-catching free-kicks – and was involved in almost all of PSG’s build-up as they blew their Serbian visitors away at Parc des Princes.
Hargreaves, a former England star, told BT Sports, “He’s the only player I’d say that’s in that situation who could be close to Messi or Ronaldo.
“He put on a show that few players are capable of doing. Free-kicks, he made them look like simple passes. The first one was breathtaking.
“Linking up with [Kylian] Mbappe, getting in the box, he played in a different position today. He didn’t play wide left, he played No 10 and he was breathtaking.
“Three goals, two [roles in] assists and literally – he probably could have scored or created about 10 goals.
“He didn’t really show up at Liverpool, I don’t know why.
Maybe he didn’t get a good night’s sleep!
“That’s the PSG [we know], when they’re great, they’re great. The PSG at Anfield disappointed quite a few people.”
