Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday confirmed that midfielder, Mousa Dembele, has been ruled out of action until 2019 due to an ankle injury.
Dembele sustained the injury from Saturday’s 3-2 win over Wolves in a Premier League encounter.
The Belgium international was replaced after only seven minutes at Molineux, and Spurs fear he will not return until the new year.
Spurs took to their official Twitter page, @SpursOfficial, to announce that the 31-year-old had a ligament damage on his right ankle.
“@mousadembele (ankle) – scans have confirmed ligament damage to right ankle and is unlikely to be available until the New Year,” Tottenham tweeted.
