Alleged Bribery! Court Stops Kano Assembly From Probing Ganduje

Kano Assembly today, received an interim injunction from the State High Court restraining them from probing the bribery allegation against Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

According to ChannelsTV, presiding judge, Justice A.T. Badamasi who ruled on Monday following an ex-parte application by one Muhammad Zubair, the National Coordinator of ‘Lawyers for Sustainable Democration of Nigeria, granted the application filed on behalf of the plaintiff by his counsel, Mr Nuraini Jimoh against three defendants that includes Kano state house of assembly, chairman of investigative committee Baffa Babba Dan Agundi and the attorney general of the state and commissioner of justice.

Justice Badamasi held that the respondents (Kano Assembly and others) were served before the close of work today, while the hearing of the case should be accelerated. The State High Court Judge who also issued a four-day ultimatum for the respondents to respond to the application, and ordered the parties involved to ‘maintain status quo ante’ pending the hearing of the motion on notice, adjourned the case till Monday next week for the hearing.

This is coming after Nigerians the Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje, to resign following the emergence of a fresh video where he was allegedly collecting bribe from a contractor.

The two minutes, twenty seconds footage dated January 18, 2017 which was shared few days ago, exposed the contractors, projects and voice of the purported bribe giver with the governor who was dressed in a black kaftan.
