Paper Talk: Liverpool back in for €60m France international; Chelsea to launch £65m bid for Serie A star

Liverpool are set to re-open talks to sign a £53m midfielder, while Chelsea are lining up a £65m bid for Thibaut Courtois’ replacement, according to Sunday’s papers.

Liverpool have resumed talks with Lyon over star midfielder Nabil Fekir, according to a report.

The France playmaker was close to a switch to Anfield, with a £53million fee agreed between the two clubs.

However, the proposed deal to take the 24-year-old Merseyside was pulled over an old knee injury which showed up on the player’s medical, with the Reds subsequently trying to renegotiate a reduced fee.

Now, the Sunday Mirror claim that Liverpoolhave approached the Ligue 1 side once again about trying to get a summer deal done for Fekir.

The report states that Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp was not happy with the fact that the deal collapsed for one of his major targets.

Numerous reports have also recently speculated that Liverpool’s rivals Manchester United are also eager to sign the France international.
